Schmuck Reinigungs-anleitung

Vor Schmuck Reinigung, Halten Sie Ihren Schmuck  trocken.

Moisture is the main reason why jewellery tarnishes or stones become dull or discoloured. Store your jewellery in a dry place and remove each piece when you shower or wash your hands.

Pure Silver is very bendable and gets oxidized in time unless you continuously wear it. We love oxidized sterling silver because it gives a vintage look and a special character. But unlike high-polished silver (the very shinny type), you can't use an anti-tarnish solution to clean your oxidized silver because it will wash off the oxidation process.

Use a simple silver polishing cloth to remove dirt without stripping the oxidization. They're are super economical, you can find them at your nearest convenience store and it will make your silver look brand new. But make sure to read the instructions to make sure it is not damaging to gold plating and stones.

Hot springs or SPAs may have small amounts of sulphur present. Sulphur is a natural oxidizing agent you may end up accidentally oxidizing your jewellery if you take it in the hot springs to soak with you.

Semiprecious stones aren't as hard as they look. They can last a lifetime or longer if treated with love and care, but you got to know how to do it right. Avoid wearing stone-set jewellery when doing vigorous activities that may cause the stone to hit or brush up against something hard. Avoid exposing your stones to sweat, oils, lotions, and even water. Be sure to dry your stone gently and leave it somewhere airy to dry if you do get it wet. Using cleaners on jewellery that have porous natural stones such as turquoise can destroy the beautiful stones your jewellery is made with.

Gold plating is a thin coat of gold over a base of silver. It can easily be damaged by brush up or cleaning solutions.

If you want to manually polish Sterling Silver: You'll need fine grade steel wool or a polishing cloth. The wool will provide a brushed metal look, and the polishing cloth will provide a shinier outcome. Lightly drag the wool or polishing cloth over the tarnished silver portions of your jewellery. Be very careful to avoid contact with stones. Brush a clean, dry toothbrush over your piece a few times after polishing with steel wool. It will remove any steel debris left behind and prevent rust-like specks. Please Note: This method is only appropriate for non-plated jewellery. If you have surface treatments like brushing or oxidising you might also lose those details.
